Astrology is one of the oldest subjects and areas of observation and intuition known to humans. Founded with the development of Astronomy, the two were inter-twined and practiced for thousands of years as respected sciences to observe, orient and guide action in the world amongst the natural world and the “gods”. Astrology was later ostracized and went into hiding after repression from the Church. There are over 80 branches of Astrology and thousands of techniques available to us today. Historians and researchers are still translating many of the ancient texts, we still do not have access to the entirety of this subject. The Astrology practiced today is very different than it was utilized and practiced in its founding.

To me, Astrology is a practice more so than a belief. It is a tool to witness a living and breathing system, the universe we exist in. In Astrology, we can observe and allow ourselves to be invited into a more intimate relationship with both our Natal (personal birth chart) energy, as well as the passing energies available of the times. I do not believe that Astrology is deterministic, but tells us flavors of conditions, weather, or energy that we may have access to, and can attempt to utilize mindfully. It might be able to guess how a person might respond to a given set of energy based on their Natal chart, but ultimately free will and choice is up to the native. I have found Astrology to be an incredibly powerful and creative tool in seeing all parts of self and in accessing new inspiration and meaning in showing up to ongoing evolution. While Astrology is not therapy, it can be deeply therapeutic. I and many of my clients have found clarity, truth and validation in the charts when many things out side of us fall short in identifying felt experiences. Astrology has given me a deeply intimate and sacred relationship with the unseen and a empowering relationship to my authentic self.

Wayfinding is my personal term for using practices like Tarot and Astrology to understand our selves and engage in the world around us. I have found in my own experience and of clients, that both these tools have a way of leading us to ourselves and a more divine or natural state, in harmony with the whole.

WHAT IS An Astrology SESSION LIKE?

Astrology sessions usually center on the natives specific questions or areas of focus they would like to translate. It is not however, essential to have clear questions or areas of focus for readings in advance. We can look at the inherit natal chart energies together briefly or spend multiple sessions diving into different areas of the chart and aspects. “Natal” chart readings are less of me telling you about yourself, and more about the conditions and relationship between the planetary placements at your time of birth. This soup is yours to work within its chemistry and to decide how to meet your life force. We can highlight and deduct what important transits are happening to the native by reviewing their natal charts with the upcoming energies overlayed. No one reading will cover everything in Astrology. We could spend a life time analyzing and distilling parts of a chart, therefore its suggested to come with an area of focus in order to glean the most focused insight. Most people who come with an open-ness find the questions they would have asked, if any, finds them anyway through the session.

I specialize in forecasting, future planning and creatively working with present and on-going energies by distilling short & long term transits together, and identifying various channels to work with through them. There is an option to record the session through zoom solely for your keeping and ability to review in the future.

How many Astrology sessions is “normal” to have?

With a trusted Astrologer who you are comfortable with, you can craft many sessions for a season or for one off’s when the time calls. I’ve had clients who see me once a season to dive deep into learning different areas of their chart and to help them to grasp a better overall understanding for a time. I have clients who I have seen once a year, some like to come around birthdays, others around the new calendar year or Spring. There will be phases your practice in way-finding may take up more space in your life than in others. Just like any other part of life, Astrology meets us where we are at. Lucky for us, its always here for us when we wanna tap in. There is nothing abnormal about regular integrating Astrology into your life, unless if brings up feelings such as fear, anxiety, attachment or co-dependency. In my sessions it is my goal to leave you feeling empowered and in control.

ISN’T ASTROLOGY BULLSHIT?

Humans have been conditioned to view non-linear and holistic forms of intellect as “woo” or illogical. It is in fact, these forms of thought that have brought about some of histories most well known inventions and both creative and scientific breakthroughs. While a hyper-linear emphasis on the rational mind has actually brought us to a dangerous level of detachment from the natural world. My favorite physicist, ecologist and system theorist, Fritjof Capra, describes the primary worldviews of today as a “crisis of perception”. Man-made systems such as capitalism have conditioned our ways of being, sensing and embodiment to be so focused on producing more and accumulating more, we have forgotten how to turn to more integrative ways of being. He describes this as a “crisis” because every living system *down to the bacteria level* needs integrative intellect and ways of being in order to open to its environment and evolve with the natural world. Without this, living systems do not survive. There is a ordered chaos in all living systems, I believe that Astrology gives us a glimpse at the conditions, it is ultimately up to us what kind of culture we might make.

It is important to understand that Astrology and Tarot is not a regulated industry. Meaning that any one can start offering readings, without any kind of certification or ethics training. This can understandably cause caution in finding the right practitioner. Every Astrologer is different and will practice Astrology in different ways and not every Astrologer is for you. I’d love to work with you to find out if we work well together. There is quite literally certain signs and aspects what will aspect you differently in synastry (two charts together in relation), so there is no hard feelings if you find I am not the Astrologer for you! Getting readings from multiple Astrologers can be fun and enlightening.

We should also keep in mind that the way Astrology is practice throughout the Western world today very commonly aims to reify the status quo of neo-liberalism and is utilized often (even if un-intentionally) from a colonial mindset, to assimilate to the structure in power today. I aim to be truthful about the real conditions of today and that includes the slow fall of the old systems that we are living through. We can be over idealist, escapist or self-indulgent with Astrology and its easy to project onto transits. It’s important to find a practitioner who is honest with you and skilled in holding complexity with gentleness. While this subject can be used to liberate people from old frameworks and worldviews, it can also be used to perpetuate the personal biases of the practitioner if they are still moving from these places of reference.

WHAT IF I DON’t HAVE MY EXACT BIRTH TIME?

I recommend finding out your exact birth time if possible for the most effective reading. A chart that is computer for just a few minutes off can alter the framework of the entire chart. We can glean some things from a chart without a birth time, but there will be limitations of how in depth we can go. Another option if the time is unaccessible to you, is to have a chart rectification completed. This is a reverse engineering technique that can be done to discover your birth time. I am happy to give a recommendation for an Astrologer that is skilled in this area. I do not currently offer a chart rectification service.
